Aprilia Tuareg reviews roundup

Tuareg: Delivering adventure since 1985

Although best known for high performance sports motorcycles, Aprilia started out making dirt bikes and even entered the Dakar rally back in 1989.

Their new 660cc Tuareg is a true adventure-sport bike, with a motor taken from the acclaimed RS 660 supersport machine and genuine off-road capability.

"Technical, essential, dynamic and proudly Italian, the Tuareg 660 doesn't accept the bar set by others, but pushes you to take on new challenges." That's the bold claim by Aprila, but do the road testers from top motorcycle magazines agree?

"impressively dynamic and agile on the road" says MCN. "Usually, off-road ability comes at the expense of road comfort, but this isn’t the case with the Tuareg – it’s as capable on road as it is off."

Bennetts Bike Social reach a similar conclusion and also highlight the Tuareg's distinctive engine sound; "Induction roar – boy it’s loud and boy it sounds good". Some bikes are packed with electronic tech that can be baffling to operate, but not the Aprila; "The switchgear is easy to figure out and navigate, and switching modes between road and off-road is quick and easy."

Adventure Bike Rider were seriously impressed; " I can think of few bikes I’ve ridden that combine such a punchy engine with nimble steering, comfort, and off-road ability. The Italian manufacturer has produced an exceptional adventure bike in the Tuareg 660."
