Goodwood Revivial – 8-10th September
The romance and glamour of motor racing as it used to be. The Revival is the only historic race meeting to be staged entirely in period dress and is a return to the halcyon days of Goodwood as the spiritual home of British motor racing.
It’s an unabashed celebration of flat-out wheel-to-wheel racing, around the sweeps and curves of this classic circuit, which remains unchanged since its heyday. The inaugural Revival opened on 18 September 1998, when the Earl of March drove around the circuit in the Bristol 400 in which his grandfather, the 9th Duke of Richmond, opened the track 50 years before. It’s now the world’s most celebrated historic motor racing event, with race fans coming from all over the country to soak up the unique atmosphere in period costume.
Mirus 55 will be on site showcasing Brough Superior and Norton motorbikes. Come and visit us to see how these historic companies have reimagined their heritage and delivered classic bikes for modern times.

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride – 24th September
On Sunday September 24th 2017, tens of thousands of distinguished gentlefolk in hundreds of cities worldwide will don their cravats, tweak their moustaches, press their tweed and sit astride their classic and vintage styled motorcycles to raise funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and men's mental health.
The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride was founded in
Sydney, Australia by Mark Hawwa. It was inspired by a photo of Mad Men’s Don
Draper astride a classic bike and wearing his finest suit. Mark decided a
themed ride would be a great way to combat the often-negative stereotype of men
on motorcycles, whilst connecting niche motorcycle communities together.
That first ride in 2012 brought together over 2,500 riders across 64 cities. The success of the event encouraged the founder to consider how it could be used to support a worthy cause.
Mirus 55 are excited to announce that we are an official sponsor of the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride 2017 and are working closely with the Bournemouth ride organisers to help make this year’s Bournemouth DGR the best yet. We will be launching our own Mirus team which customers and friends are welcome to join as well as having a fundraising drive in the coming weeks to help promote this great cause so stay tuned for more information.
